Audited Supplier Application: Benzyl acetate is an important synthetic fragrance that is widely used in the food and cosmetic industries, but it is also an important solvent that can dissolve a variety of compounds such as cellulose acetate, dyes, oils and printing inks, and is used in the textile and dye industries.
Chemical properties: Colorless oil-like liquid, with jasmine type special aroma. It is almost insoluble in water and miscible with most solvents such as ethanol and ether.
1. Use of spices: Benzyl acetate is the main component of jasmine and other extractum. It is an indispensable spice in the preparation of fragrance, such as fragrant jasmine and elam. Because of its low price, it is used for soap and other industrial flavors. Often used in jasmine, prynne, hosta, moon fragrance and narcissus and other flavors, can also be used in a small amount of pear, apple, banana, mulberry and other edible flavors.
2. Use of solvents: Benzyl acetate dissolves 0.23% (weight) in water, insoluble in glycerin. But it can be miscible with alcohol, ether, ketone, ester hydrocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbon and so on. It has good dissolving ability to oil, acetate, etc. It can also dissolve rosin, glycerin trirosinate,resin, etc. Therefore, it is used as a solvent for shellac paint, alkyd resin, cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, dyes, fats, printing inks and so on.
