Copper(II) chloride dihydrate with the chemical formula CuCl2. It is a yellow-brown solid that slowly absorbs water in the air to form blue-green dihydrates. 

The electroplating industry is used as an additive for copper ions in electroplating tanks. Used as a colorant for glass and ceramics, and as a catalyst for organic hydrogenation reactions. Deodorization, desulfurization, and purification agents for the petroleum industry. Mordant and dye colorants for Chemicalbook printing and dyeing. Used for metal smelting, photography and plate making as a corrosive agent, and wood preservation. Used as an insecticide, water purification disinfectant, and additive for fish feed.
