1. Intermediates of pharmaceutical, pesticide and liquid crystal materials.
2. Pentafluorophenol is mainly used for the preparation of pentafluorophenyl active ester synthesized by polypeptide, thus promoting the formation of peptide bonds. Activated carboxyl group as amino acid protection group of alkyl ester, peptide bond formation reaction rate is very slow. Phenyl ester has higher reactivity. If there is a strong electronegative substituent on the benzene ring, the rate of amidation will be about the same as that of the acid anhydride. Because one of the most important requirements for peptide bond formation is high efficiency and no side reactions, pentafluorophenol esters are widely used in peptide synthesis. Pentafluorophenol esters can be used for both solid-phase and liquid-phase synthesis of polypeptides. For example, propargyl pentafluorophenol carbonate can be effectively applied to the synthesis of polypeptides (
Formula 1). Another example is the synthesis of cyclic peptides (
Formula 2). Pentafluorophenol activated carboxyl groups are used in the synthesis of some biologically active molecules, such as the synthesis of Farnesyltrans ferase inhibitor RPR130401 analogues.
