Pure Glycolic acid is colorless and easily deliquescent crystals. The industrial product is a 70% aqueous solution, a pale yellow liquid with an odor similar to burnt caramel. Soluble in water, ethanol and ether.

The mechanism of action of glycolic acid is to reduce the adhesion of keratinocytes by interfering with the binding force of the cell surface, accelerate the shedding and renewal of epidermal cells, and at the same time stimulate the synthesis of dermal collagen and enhance the moisturizing function. The hydroxyl group in glycolic acid has a strong water absorption capacity, and at the same time, the substance can promote the production of natural moisturizing factors after it penetrates into the dermis, so it can moisturize .

Application

1. Raw materials of organic synthesis, which can be used to produce ethylene glycol. Glycolic acid is mainly used as a cleaning agent. Fiber dyeing agent, cleaning agent, welding agent ingredients, varnish ingredients, copper corrosion agent, adhesive, oil demulsifier and metal chelating agent; Sodium salt and potassium salt of glycolic acid are used as additives for electroplating solution. Other uses include electrolytic grinding, metal pickling, leather dyeing and tanning agent. It can also be used as a chemical analysis reagent.

 

The mixed acid of 2.2% glycolic acid  is a kind of detergent with high efficiency and low cost, which is suitable for cleaning air conditioner. It can fully react with rust, calcium salt and magnesium salt in the equipment to achieve the purpose of descaling, and it is easy to remove calcium carbonate scale and iron scale, with good treatment effect.
