Cobalt trioxide (Co2O3), is the black oxide of cobalt, often used in glass, ceramic magnetic products on the color, that is, the well-known cobalt blue, this special cobalt blue glass is also used in the fine glass processing industry as a filter glasses to remove the sodium yellow light emitted by the hot glass, so that the operator can see the details of the glass.

Application

1. Paint additives. Cobalt oxide added in the various paints can let it dry quickly which is helpful for the rapid construction.

2. Enamel and ceramic pigments. Improve the anti-corrosion and abrasion resistance capability when added to enamel materials. In a variety of building materials and household ceramics, the ceramic products smeared by the blue pigments or glaze  made by the Cobalt oxide showing a bright color after roasting, which looks more artistic.

3. As catalyst in refined petroleum field.

4.Battery industry. As a kind of high performance battery additives, it has a significant effect to improve electrode performance. Cobalt oxide is also the raw material of electrode material for lithium ion battery.
