Product Description

Application: mono-p-nitrobenzyl malonate is an excellent solvent for paint, textile and dye industries, and is used as a solvent for lac paint, alkyd resin, cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, dyes, oils, printing inks, etc.
Preparation: Meldrum acid (5.00g, 34.7mmol) and anhydrous MeCN (40mL) were added to a flame-dried 150mL pressure tube. P-nitrobenzyl alcohol (5.58 g, 36.4 mmol) was added to the resulting solution. Cap the pipe tightly. Return the reaction overnight. Concentration reaction under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography (55/45  /EtOAc) to obtain mono-p-nitrobenzyl malonate. The yield is 87%.
