1,3-dioxolan-2-one (often abbreviated PC) is an organic compound with the formula CH3C2H3O2CO. It is a carbonate ester derived from glycol. This colorless and odorless liquid is useful as a polar, aprotic solvent. 1,3-dioxolan-2-onee is chiral but is used exclusively as the racemic mixture.

1.Used as solvent for synthetic fibers and other polymers, as extractant, plasticizer, etc.
2.In the electronics industry, it can be used as an excellent medium for high-energy batteries and capacitors.
3.Polymer industry can be used as solvent and plasticizer polymer.  Used as a plasticizer for adhesives and sealants.  It can also be used as dispersing agent of phenolic resin curing accelerator and pigment filler of water-soluble adhesive. 
4.Chemical industry is the main raw material and can also be used to remove carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from petroleum cracking gas. 
5.Can also be used in textile, printing and dyeing and other industrial fields.
