Caprylhydroxamic acid, an ideal organic acid, has excellent anti-bacterial activity at neutral pH, and can be used in a formula system free of chemical preservative. Caprylhydroxamic acid is an organic acid that keeps the non-ionizing state in the whole process from acid to neutral, an optimal anti-bacterial organic acid. With the high chelation effect, it can inhibit the active elements required for molds and limit the environment required for microbial growth. Caprylhydroxamic acid is compatible with the majority of raw materials, not affected by surfactant, protein or other raw materials in the system, able to compound with alcohol, glycol and other preservatives. It can be added at normal temperature under high temperature condition, widely used in gel, essence, emulsion, cream, shampoo, shower and other skin care and hair care products.

1. Caprylhydroxamic Acid can chelate with Fe2+ and Fe3+ excellently. Then, it can stop mold to get Fe.Caprylhydroxamic Acid has the best length(C8) of C chain to promote degradation of cell membrane structures.
2.It can take place of traditional preservatives when applied to the cosmetic.it is still effective when pH is neutral;
3. Caprylhydroxamic Acid is compatible with most cosmetic ingredient.

Application
Caprylhydroxamic Acid is a new natural preservative, usually be compounded with dihydric alcohol to be a preservative-free system, can be used in cosmetics and personal care products. The raw material of it is from coconut oil, so it is more safe compared to the traditional preservatives, and will be widely used in cosmetics.
Octanohydroxamic acid may be used in emulsion. Anhydrous and surfactant systems.These include creams, lotions, shower gels and make-up. It may be added to the water phase , at ambient or hot temperatures, or may be added post-emulsidication of O/W emulsions.We do recommend avoiding lengthy exposure to elevated temperatures: for example, maximum two hours at 90ºC,or maximum six hours at 60ºC.
