Dibenzylamine, a chemical contaminant in L-(+)-β-hydroxybutyrate, exhibits direct anticonvulsant actions in vivo.

Dibenzylamine is an important intermediate of organic synthesis. It can be used to synthesize curing agents of penicillin and rubber and plastics. It is mainly used to produce highly effective and non-toxic sulfiding accelerators tetrbenzyl disulfide thylisulam (TBZTD) and dibenzyl dithiocarbamate (ZBEC).
