Gold trichloride, commonly known as gold chloride, is the most common inorganic gold compound with the formula AuCl3. The Roman numerals in the name indicate that gold has a valence of +3, which is the most stable of its many compounds. Gold also forms another chloride, aurous chloride (AuCl), which is less stable than AuCl3. In addition, dissolving gold in produces chlorauric acid, sometimes informally referred to as "gold chloride", "trichloroalloic acid", or "gold chloride (III) trihydrate".

Gold (III) chloride is highly hygroscopic and easily soluble in water and ethanol. Temperatures above 160°C or light break down and produce a variety of complexes with a large number of ligands.

2.Gold trichloride is the main salt in the sulphite gold plating process. The sulphite gold plating solution is a non-cyanide plating solutionwithexcellent dispersing and covering, high cathode current efficiency and fast deposition speed.

3.Gold chloride is golden yellow crystal, easy to absorb moisture and moisture. Orange - red Au(OH)3 precipitates were obtained by adding cold potassiu hydroxid into the solution. Ions that can supply electron pairs, such as Cl- or CNChemicalbook-, can form [AuCl4]- and [Au(CN)4]- coordination ions.
