Industrial Grade High Quality Pyrogallol CAS 87-66-1 

Pyrogallol (Pyrogallol, pyrogallol, pyrogallol, pyrogallol acid, or pyrophenol) is one of the aromatic compounds. It's a very strong reducing agent. The first person to make it was Karl Wilhelm Scheler, who made it by heating gallic acid in 1786. In alkaline solutions, pyroquinone absorbs water and turns from colorless to purple. It can also absorb oxygen. Its uses include developer for photographic negatives, hair coloring, dyeing, oxygen absorption in gas analysis and experiments, and fungicide.

Pyrogallol CAS 87-66-1 is white odorless crystal. It tastes bitter. Exposure to air and light turns gray. Heat slowly and begin to sublimate. Melting point 133-134 ºC, boiling point 309 ºC, relative density 1.453, refractive index 1.561. Soluble in water, ethanol, ether, slightly soluble in benzene, chloro-form, carbon disulfide. When exposed to air, the color of the aqueous solution darkens, while the color of its caustic solution changes faster.

Application

For the preparation of metal colloidal solution, leather coloring, fur, hair, etc., dyeing, etching, etc.; And can be used as film film developer, infrared photographic thermosensitive agent, styrene and polystyrene blocking polymerization agent, medicine and dye intermediates and analytical reagents. Pyrogallic acid is used as an oxygen absorbent in gas analysis, and in cosmetics as a powder, hair conditioner, hair dye, etc.
